MATERIALS: One 9x18 piece of plastic Needlepoint canvas, 1/2 yd of a fabric of your choice, and any scarves, ribbon, trim, beads, coins, baubles, etc. to embellish.

At these demos, we do a little lecture about life in the Middle Ages, especially life for children. We display things like feast gear and craft work. We usually dress a few kids up and them tell them about their roles in Medieval Society. Each of us usually speaks for a little bit about something which is their area of interest. Someone talks about what is required to make clothing. and someone else may talk about music in the Middle Ages - how it was made and how it was used. We also talk about heraldry. Other subjects may include blacksmithing. or woad and fabric dyeing. We attend in garb.
